Keep the Localization Movement Thriving!
Your gift to AMIBA supports strong communities,
thriving Independent Business Alliances,
and vital local economies everywhere
AMIBA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to helping communities implement programs that nurture local entrepreneurship, prevent the displacement of local independent businesses, and build more prosperous and durable local economies.

Your gift will help us expand the assistance we can provide communities like yours across North America.
Specifically, your support will enable us to advance the following goals and programs in 2014:
• Build more diverse and inclusive IBAs: AMIBA has identified expertise, a pilot project and potential major national funding to create a roadmap for engaging Hispanic entrepreneurs in IBA organizations. We need seed funding to execute the pilot project with the Albuquerque IBA and create initial materials to facilitate successful broader replication.
• Convene key leaders from IBAs, entrepreneurs and policy makers at AMIBA's 2014 Go Local, Grow Local Conference in Minneapolis (May 8–11) to share ideas and focus on local business advocacy and movement building. We'll also engage leaders of smart-growth groups, microenterprise, cooperatives, advocates for minority entrepreneurs and others to build a stronger, more cohesive Movement.
|Help us continue to reach and influence
new generations of people who currently
-- and hugely -- influence their parents'
spending, and will become tomorrow's
citizens, decision makers, entrepreneurs,
• Help local groups fundraise better and build sound organizations, including direct assistance with securing grants and sponsorships.
• Build national presence: After several years of background work, 2013 saw the advent of Advocates for Independent Business (AIB), a new coalition of independent trade associations and allied groups dedicated to helping independent businesses and communities thrive. AIB will become a desperately-needed voice to counter the armies of corporate interest groups presently skewing national policy against the interests of communities and small business.
