Go Local, Grow Local Comes to the Twin Cities!
Sure, the Go Local, Grow Local conference will provide you with new insights, ideas and inspiration. But what really sets this event apart is practicality. Every session is designed to offer you specific actions that will yield tangible results for your organization, community or business. Presentations are brief and provide practical guidance while setting the stage for dialogue and action. You'll be a participant, not just an attendee.
If you're engaged in (or looking to start) a buy local campaign, economic development work, Main Street program, Chamber of Commerce, other work supporting independent businesses or operating one, you'll find this a valuable and unique event.
- Learn how to organize a successful IBA or educational campaign in your community or get the latest innovations to ramp up the power of your existing campaign.
- Participate in candid, nuts-and-bolts discussions about what’s been tried, what works…and what doesn’t with IBA directors and other Localization Movement leaders from around the country.
- Energize yourself by spending 2½ days with some of the most inspiring and fun people you’ll ever meet!
"The AMIBA Conference is a MUST! I...[absorbed] so many great ideas to carry back to Shop Local Raleigh. We've put many of them into action here: great strategies to build our membership, engage with the public, focus our Social Media, create real value for our business members, and so much more. Plus, after meeting IBA leaders from all across the continent, we're never more than a phone call (or a tweet) away from solutions.
We know there is so much to gain from so many IBAs sharing so many ideas"
-- Mark Weldon, Board Member, Shop Local Raleigh

Our conference home: Radisson Plaza Hotel - Downtown Minneapolis
You’re in for a real treat. The Radisson Plaza is the original Radisson, established in 1909. The hotel is owned by the Carlson family, which pioneered the first customer loyalty program for grocery stores. The family-owned Carlson Company is headquartered in Minneapolis (see the Radisson's business practices statement). It's in the heart of downtown and trains from the airport will take you there with no planning at all (depart every 12 minutes for about $2).
The event is in the heart of downtown Minneapolis’s business and entertainment district, and is connected to abundant shopping and dining venues via the famous skyway system. We’re also within walking distance of many prominent attractions, including the world-renowned Walker Art Center -- the venue for our Friday evening gala dinner.
We are thrilled to announce expected conference speakers include, US Senator Al Franken, Amy Cortese, Craig Taylor, Michael Shuman, Stacy Mitchell, Becky McCray, Laury Hammel and Jeff Milchen, as well as other top AMIBA speakers and leaders in the Localization/Indie Business Movement. See the agenda.
